SAILING CLASSES

The Basic Cruising Exam will be administered by the Orange Coast

College School of Sailing and Seamanship. Students must have

completed the Basic Cruising II course.

The test is a three-hour, on-the-water test with an instructor

from 1:45 to 5:30 p.m. March 20 at OCC’s Sailing Center, 1801 W.

Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $150. Information:

A six-week advanced marine weather class will be offered by the

OCC School of Sailing and Seamanship. The course takes an in-depth

look at high and low pressure systems and the evolution of hurricanes

and thunderstorms. Class will meet Thursday evenings March 3 -- April

7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Orange Coast College Sailing Center.

A fiberglass repair workshop class will be offered by the OCC

School of Sailing and Seamanship. Course instructor Armando Eason

will offer attendees valuable tips on how to care for and repair a

fiberglass boat. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 19

from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orange Coast College Sailing Center.
