Team Hobie opened its 2005 Majors Division schedule by rallying for

an exciting, 3-2 victory over VFW in Laguna Beach Little League play

at Riddle Field.

Team Hobie found itself down, 2-1, in the fourth inning, but it

was their that it began to rally.

Back-to-back singles by Jack Pillsbury and Remington Zona set the

stage for Michael Kimball, who came up with a two-run double for a

3-1 Team Hobie lead.

Relief pitcher Alex Bekken took the mound for Team Hobie in the

bottom of the fourth inning, and proceeded to allow just two base

runners in the final three innings.

He struck out the final three batters he faced.

Bekken was backed by the defensive play of Zona, Spencer

Friedenrich and Sawyer Pierce.

Team Hobie had taken a 1-0 first inning lead on the strength of an

RBI double by Freidenrich.
