Sailor duo first team

Newport Harbor High senior forward Brett Perrine and senior guard

Taylor Young were named first-team All-Sea View League in boys

basketball by the circuit’s coaches.

Senior guards Vinny Nasca and Alex Orth were tabbed second-team

all-league for the Sailors, who finished 17-10 overall and reached

the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs

before bowing out to third-seeded Pasadena, 51-40.

Young, a repeat first-team selection, led Newport, which finished

second in league, with 17.3 points per game while Perrine averaged

14.3 points.

Orth averaged 9.2 points in 15 games while Nasca tallied 2.5

points per contest for the Tars, who won four of five to close the

season.

Senior Michael Roll, bound for UCLA, was named Player of the Year.
