Army Pvt. Daniel R. Ortegon, a 1997...

Army Pvt. Daniel R. Ortegon, a 1997 graduate of Huntington Beach’s

Marina High School, graduated from basic combat training at Fort

Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During his nine weeks of training, Ortegon studied the Army’s

mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and he

received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military

weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, drill and ceremony,

marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading,

field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic

first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. Ortegon is the

son of Steve and Anita Ortegon of Laguna Hills.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car recently promoted Huntington Beach resident

Misti Guenther to the position of area manager, overseeing several

offices in Orange County.

Guenther, 35, will supervise 30 employees at rental offices

serving Seal Beach, Westminster and Huntington Beach. Guenther is

based out of the Enterprise branch at 18151 Beach Blvd. in Huntington

Beach.
