‘HOLIDAY’

A comedy written by Phillip Barry in the 1930s that has been

called one of the outstanding successes of the New York theater. It

is the story of a young man, planning to wed a girl of great wealth

and social standing, who expresses his preference to live life as a

holiday, much to her father’s chagrin and her sister’s fascination.

The production will be directed by Jack Millis and performed at the

Newport Theatre Arts Center, 2501 Cliff Dr., Newport Beach. Tickets

‘TARTUFFE’

Moliere’s comedy about an odious impostor will be staged by Orange

Coast College’s Repertory Theatre Company. Written in 1664,

“Tartuffe” was originally banned from the public stage by Louis XIV

and remains a work of art to this day. Curtain is set for 6:30 p.m.,

with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday. The play will be staged

in OCC’s Fine Arts Outdoor Amphitheatre, 2701 Fairview Rd., Costa

‘CALIFORNIA SEA LIONS -- AN UNFORGETTABLE ENCOUNTER’

The Orange County Coastkeeper, a non-profit environmental

organization with a mission to protect Orange County California’s

harbors and coastline through education, advocacy, restoration, and

enforcement has formally agreed to showcase the award-winning Rio

Films documentary “California Sea Lions -- An Unforgettable

Encounter,” to help raise much needed funds for both parties. Founded

in 1999, the Orange County Coastkeeper is the only local grassroots

nonprofit organization completely dedicated to protecting the natural

resources of Orange County. Programs include their regional giant

kelp restoration project, citizen water monitoring program, and Rhine

Channel evaluation and solutions project. The movie will be shown at

7 p.m. at Newport Dunes Marina, 101 N. Bayside Dr., Newport Beach.

‘GONE MISSING’

The Civilians, one of New York City’s most acclaimed new theater

companies, will be performing “Gone Missing,” a combination

documentary and musical. Performed by six actors who play more than

30 characters, “Gone Missing,” is set in an intimate cabaret-style

setting with tables on stage and seating for only 150 people. The

performance will be staged at the Irvine Barclay Theater, 4242 Campus

PACO PENA AND ELIOT FISK

Virtuoso classical guitarists Paco Pena and Eliot Fisk have been

performing together since the late 1980s and they will share the
