SAILING CLASSES

A Coastal Navigation Certification class is being offered by

Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. The

comprehensive six-week course provides instruction in the theory,

practice and procedures for navigation and piloting. This is a

non-credit class that offers US SAILING certification. Classes will

meet Tuesday evenings April 19 through May 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

at OCC’s Sailing Center, 1801 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach.

A keelboat class is being offered by Orange Coast College’s School

of Sailing and Seamanship. The non-credit basic keelboat

certification class is designed for students with rudimentary sailing

experience. Classes will meet Sundays April 17 through May 22 from 10

a.m. to 5 p.m. at OCC’s Sailing Center, 1801 W. Coast Highway,

A five-day live aboard bareboat cruising experience is being

offered by Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship.

The cruise will sail April 20 -- 24 aboard the college’s Cal 48, Glin

A Beginning Sailing class is being offered by Orange Coast

college’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. Two sections are being

offered: one will meet Saturdays April 16 through May 14 from 9:30

a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the second will meet Sundays April 17 through May

15 at the same time. Classes are held at OCC’s Sailing Center, 1801

W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $109. Information:

An Introduction to Shields class is being offered by Orange Coast

College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. The Shields class is a

transition course that takes students from small boats to keel boats.

Two sections are being offered. The first meets Saturdays April 16

through May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the seconds meets Sundays

April 17 through May 15 at the same time at OCC’s Sailing Center,

1801 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $129.
