Corona del Mar High sophomore David Su shot par 72 to take third

individually in the Keppel Klassic golf tournament at El Prado Golf

Course Wednesday in Chino.

Su teamed up with senior Matt Story to shoot 1-under 71 for fifth

place in the two-man best-ball format of team competition in the

tournament.

In the format, two teammates are paired together and the best

score between the two players on each hole is marked down and counts

at the team’s score.

Junior Jamie Bloom and senior Ben Tilsen combined to shoot 72 for

a share of sixth place, while Zach Rabinovich and Cody Stuart shot

77.

Ben Wu and Jack Francis shot 78 for the Sea Kings, who return to

Pacific Coast League play against visiting Calvary Chapel at 2:30

p.m. today at Newport Beach Country Club.

Sailors glide to win

honors and help lead the host Newport Harbor High boys golf team to a

(39) and Brandon Sowers (39) all scored for the Sailors (9-6).

Newport, 4-1 in the Sea View League, hosts Foothill at 3 p.m.

today at Big Canyon Country Club.

season and the second consecutive match after shooting a par 35

Wednesday, leading the Sage Hill School boys golf team to a 200-217

Academy League victory over Oxford Academy.

Chen drove the green on the 259-yard par-4 fourth hole and just

missed the eagle putt. He tapped in for birdie and then added another

birdie at the sixth hole.

Geoffrey Grant shot 36, while Ryan Babbush (38), Will Rigby (44)

and Brett McGaughey (47) notched scores for the Lightning (6-2, 4-0
