visiting Anteaters to an 8-5 Big West Conference baseball win over UC

Riverside at the Riverside Sports Complex.

conference series victory in three tries. The Anteaters rebounded

from a heartbreaking 3-2 loss Friday night in 10 innings to win the

final two games.

Wallis, who had six hits all season entering Saturday’s contest,

was 7 for 9 in the final two games.

Junior catcher Mark Wagner went 2 for 5 with three RBIs, including

his third home run of the season, while junior Tim Wojcik, in the

lineup in place of regular third baseman Matt Anderson, went 3 for 5

with an RBI ane one run scored.

Senior Steve Schroer allowed five earned runs and 10 hits in five

innings, but he outlasted UCR starter Daniel Stange to even his

Sophomore Gary Nakashima threw four shutout innings in relief,

allowing only two hits, to pick up the save.

UCR fell to 15-19, 1-5.

Saturday. He had been the only Anteater to start each of the first 32

games. He started all 58 games last season as well and, including his
