Edward San Chang, son of Ho San and Young Ae Chang of Huntington

Beach, has been awarded a Percy E. Towne Scholarship to help finance

his studies at the University of California Hastings College of Law

in San Francisco. Chang is in his final year at Hastings, where he

served on the staff of the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal and

as an appellate advocacy and moot court teaching assistant. During

the summer of 2003, Chang held a judicial externship with the

Honorable Gary Taylor of the U.S. District Court. Chang earned a

bachelor’s degree in legal studies at UC Berkeley in 2002.

Huntington Beach native Brandon Rainey was chosen as a top-12

finalist in American Eagle Outfitters’ national Live Your Life

contest. Rainey was selected from a pool of more than 6,000 video and

essay entries from young people who want to make a difference.

Rainey, 20, is a political science and economics major at UCLA.
