Repertory’s programs continue into summer
Enrollment is open for South Coast Repertory’s two-week Summer
Theatre Workshop, which introduces theater to students in grades
three through 12. Sessions run from Aug. 1 to 12 and Aug. 15 to 27.
Tuition is $260 per session. Call (714) 708-5577 for more
information.
The summer session for SCR’s Theatre Conservatory program begins
June 27 and goes through Aug. 25 and offers 10 classes.
And auditions have begun for SCR’s Professional Intensive Program,
which is designed for students who are looking to advance their
acting skills. Classes in the most advanced program in the
conservatory meet over eight weeks from June 6 to July 30. Auditions
end on June 1.
Relay team works
for cancer research
Costa Mesa resident Heather Goral and her relay team, Heather’s
Helping Hands, are hoping tonight to raise cash from hungry diners
for cancer research.
Costa Mesa Councilman Gary Monahan has agreed to contribute 15%
sales from his restaurant, Skosh Monahan’s, to Goral’s team.
The restaurant is at 2000 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa, and is open
from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Goral and her team plan to participate in the American Cancer
Society’s Relay for Life fundraiser, which is scheduled for May 13
and 14 at Newport Harbor High School. Her team started raising money
in February and has collected more than $4,400 so far.
“I started off with a big bang, and then the next thing we know,
we’re doing good,” Goral said.
