The Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual

meeting and volunteer appreciation luncheon, sponsored by Bank of the

West. The chamber will recognize the nearly 50 volunteers who have

given their time to support the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce in

its program of work.

Two very special volunteers will be honored with the Silver Anchor

award. In addition, council chairs will review the chamber’s

accomplishments for the 2004-05 fiscal year, accompanied by a brief

PowerPoint presentation. The event will be held at noon at the

Radisson Hotel, 4545 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach. Tickets are $25

“Crisis Planning for Business: Enterprise Risk Management in an

Age of Transnational Threats” is being presented by UC Irvine’s

Center for Unconventional Security Affairs.

Panelists will help business leaders address the growing concern

about disruptions to business resulting from threats such as

terrorism, identity theft and infectious disease. The program will be

held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Beckman Center Auditorium, UC

Irvine campus. Price is $125, and includes breakfast and lunch.
