Investors disclose Sutton Place price

Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. based in San Clemente, disclosed

Friday how much the company had agreed to pay for Newport Beach’s

Sutton Place Hotel. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange

Commission, the company announced the price for the 444-room hotel

was about $72 million. The deal was first announced in April and the

purchase price was not disclosed.

The deal is expected to close in June. Sunstone also owns the

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. The Sutton Place Hotel is expected to

undergo a $22-million renovation project and be managed by

Toronto-based Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Plans call for the hotel to

be renamed the Fairmont Newport Beach at the completion of

renovations.

Ultimate Career Fair

targets U.S. veterans

“The Ultimate Career Fair,” an event geared toward veterans

looking for work, is scheduled to be held Tuesday in Costa Mesa.

Companies expected to appear at the event include the Home Depot,

Embassy Suites Hotels, Western Digital, Chapman University, UC

Irvine, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Downey Savings,

and Knott’s Berry Farm.

Special services will be available for U.S. military veterans,

however anyone may come to the job fair. The event is sponsored by

the Orange County offices of the state Economic Development

Department’s Job Service Veterans unit and the Orange County Veterans

Employment Committee. The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the

Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave. Admission will be free.
