Albright wins 10th

Debbie Albright set a Newport Beach Country Club record with her 10th

straight ladies club championship title following four rounds of

stroke play concluded May 19.

Albright (77-75-83-79 -- 314) edged Janice Sauter (81-79-79-80 --

319) and Gail Paoli (85-82-82-85 -- 334) in the championship flight,

besting last year’s total by a stroke. Albright also vaulted past Dee

Dee White for consecutive ladies club championship titles with the

win.

White holds the all-time record for ladies club championship

crowns with 17.

The win also makes Albright eligible to compete with fellow

Newport Beach Country Club team members in the Jones Cup, scheduled 1

p.m. Aug. 30 at Santa Ana Country Club.

Sandi Coffer took low net honors with a 303.
