Ernst & Young, LLP announced last week that William Lyon, founder

of Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes is set to receive a Master

Entrepreneur of the Year award at the company’s 19th annual

Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Orange County. The 24 finalists

for the firm’s award include Steve Borowski, managing partner at

Metropolitan West Capital Management in Newport Beach; Robert

Brunswick, president and chief executive of Newport Beach’s Buchanan

Street Partners, and David Wilhelm, president and chief executive of

Culinary Adventures, Inc. in Newport Beach.

sold in Costa Mesa

Grubb & Ellis Co. announced last Wednesday the $10.1-million sale

of four Costa Mesa office buildings. The four buildings, totaling

56,711 square feet, are part of the Waters at Creekside office

project at 2900 Bristol St.

The buildings were sold by Commercial Ventures to Essex Property

Management, according to a press release. The deal was the final part

of a $32-million plan to sell nine office buildings. Office units at

the four buildings purchased by Essex Property Management are

expected to be sold to individual owners.
