Padres roll past Yankees

The Padres jumped out to a big lead early and parlayed it into a

17-10 victory over the Yankees in Minor A division play at Ocean View

Little League.

The Padres jumped out to an early 11-1 lead and never let up.

Their offensive attack was led by Wyatt Albert and Stuart Morton, who

each went three-for-three.

Mitch Vega and Roger Lemburg each had two hits and Alec Villalobos

and Sam Mahdad had one hit apiece.

Albert pitched the first three innings, Alec Villalobos and

Branden Williams each saw relief action, and Stuart Morton closed the

final inning without allowing a run.

Red Sox 3, A’s 0

The Red Sox got their first shutout of the season, winning for the

12th time in 16 games this season.

Zack Gates and Dee Atwood pitched for the Red Sox and combined to

strike out 11, limiting the A’s to just three hits.

Gates, Atwood, TJ Carlson, David Feirstein, Robert Giambone, Jacob

Potter and Tyler Hammock anchored the defense.

Conner Cassatta continued his hot hitting streak with an RBI

single in the first inning. Tyler Hammock had an RBI single and Gates

and Atwood each scored a run for the Red Sox.

Padres 7, A’s 3

The Padres pounded out 12 hits in defeating the A’s.

They were led in hitting by Stuart Morton, who went three for

three. Sam Mahdad, Alec Villalobos and Wyatt Albert each had two

hits.

Albert pitched the first three innings and Villalobos closed the

game to get the win.

The A’s were led by Ryan Harchut, who had two hits.

Diamondbacks 8, Giants 7

The Diamondbacks paired five timely hits with 11 walks to produce

eight runs in beating the Giants.

Ben Drolet pitched the final two innings to close out the Giants.

The Giants had nine hits, including home runs from Grant Mayeaux

and Dane Perkins. Both finished with two hits.
