Health bill pondered

Members of the community are welcome to learn more about state

Senator Sheila Kuehl’s SB 840, a bill to establish single-payer

health care insurance for California. After an analysis of the

legislation, a pro and con discussion is anticipated. The bill has

passed the state Senate, and will be considered in the Assembly.

This event will be held after services, 12:15 p.m., Sunday, June

12, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach. The

Fellowship is located at 429 Cypress.

Sandwich Sunday has been established by the Social Action

Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to provide the

community with an opportunity to discuss current issues which have an

impact on the quality of our lives. The charge for the light lunch is

$6 for adults, $3 for children over 5. Proceeds are used to support

the Laguna Beach Relief and Resource Center.
