Back Bay standouts selected

Three girls water polo players from Newport Harbor High, a CIF

Southern Section Division I finalist last spring, along with two from

Division II champion Corona del Mar, were selected to the United

States women’s junior national team announced Tuesday.

CdM senior goalkeeper Brittany Fullen, who earned Division II

Co-Player of the Year honors, along with sophomore teammate Katie

Indvik, join Newport seniors Ashling Taylor, Melissa Wheeler and Leah

Robertson on the 23-player team.

The junior national team, which claimed the junior world

championships in January, will begin training for the junior Pan

American Games and the next junior world championships.

Taylor and Wheeler both earned first-team All-CIF Division I

recognition while Indvik and Robertson garnered second-team honors in

Division II and I, respectively.
