Three repeat at Pilot Cup

Three dynasties were extended and another ended as champions were

crowned Sunday in the sixth annual Daily Pilot Cup youth soccer

tournament at the Costa Mesa Farm Sports Complex.

Rea Elementary won its fifth straight boys fifth- and sixth-grade

crown in the Gold division with a 9-4 victory over Harbor Day.

Carden Hall collected its third straight title in the girls fifth-

and sixth-grade Gold division by beating Mariners Elementary, 2-0.

Andersen Elementary won its fourth straight championship in the

girls third- and fourth-grade Gold division, defeating Lincoln

Elementary, 4-2.

Rea also won the boys third- and fourth-grade Gold division title

with a 1-0 triumph over Mariners Christian, which had won the last

two division crowns.

Silver division champions were also crowned Sunday, capping the

six-day tournament that included 28 schools and more than 2,000

athletes.

Eastbluff Elementary (girls) and Davis Elementary (boys) won the

fifth- and sixth-grade Silver division titles.

The third- and fourth-grade Silver division champions are Newport

Coast Elementary (boys) and St. Joachim (girls).
