Gold Coast Xtreme club soccer team, who will move up to under-13

division in the Coast Soccer League this fall, won its division

championship at the Irvine Memorial Cup tournament.

In the championship game, the Xtreme fought back for a 4-1 victory

over Santa Monica United Sparks.

The Sparks had led 1-0 at halftime, but two quick goals to open by

Halle Bissin scored the final two goals of the match, one off a

pass from Caitlin Fromkneght.

To reach the championship game, the Xtreme knocked off Santa

Clarita United Orange and Mission Viejo United, and previously played

Santa Monica United Sparks to a tie.

Other Xtreme goals for the tournament were scored by Shannon

Wright, Natalie Bergeron, Hanna Mais and Jackie Freiberger, who had

two goals.

Solid midfield and forward play was turned in by Emily Walling,

Alexa Georgatsos, Sarah Wilkinson, Brianna Henderson, and Fromkneght.

Contributing to the defensive effort were Katherine Zeltner,

Nicole Camarillo, Shannon Durkee, Paige Grigus and Aubrey Dawson.

Goalkeeping duties were handled by Bissin and Christina Marquette.
