Andy Stokes became the 30th Mr. Irrelevant after he was the 255th and

final pick of this year’s NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.

The tight end from William Penn University will have an arrival

party June 20 at the Newport Dunes Resort at 5 p.m.

Steelers chose the University of Dayton wide receiver with the 487th

and last pick in 1976.

Irrelevant Week is not the only event celebrating its 30th

anniversary this year.

Angola and Mozambique are each in their 30th year of independence

from Portugal.

As of July 31, Teamster Union President Jimmy Hoffa will be

missing for 30 years.

2005 marks the 30th anniversary of the Viking I probe to Mars by

NASA.

“Jaws,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “The Rocky Horror

Picture Show” all made their cinematic debuts 30 years ago.

The Thrilla in Manila, the heavyweight fight in which Muhammad Ali

defeated Joe Frazier, happened 30 years ago.

Saturday Night Live was first broadcast 30 years ago.

Also turning 30 this year are actresses Drew Barrymore, Angelina

Jolie, Charlize Theron and Kate Winslow.
