Dapper bandits steal jewelry at South Coast Plaza
Two well-dressed bandits, one armed with a handgun, robbed a South
Coast Plaza jewelry store Monday evening, police said.
The men entered the store near Carousel Court just after 8 p.m.

One displayed a handgun and told a clerk to give him all the
store’s jewelry as a second man kept lookout, Carver said.
The first man stuffed jewelry into his jacket pockets and into two
shopping bags, police said. Both fled toward a parking structure,
dropping some of the jewelry on the way, police said.
A witness reported that the two fled in a late-model Dodge
Intrepid with no license plates.
The first suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s, 5
feet 8 inches, 185 pounds, wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie,
a tan jacket and carrying a silver-colored revolver. The second
suspect is described as a black man also in his mid-20s, 6 feet 3
inches, 195 pounds, wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie and a
