Here are some items the Planning Commission considered Monday.

MASSAGE BUSINESS

Despite earlier concerns about parking, the commission decided a

massage business will be allowed in a Harbor Boulevard shopping

center. Foot massage, chair massage and reflexology services will be

offered at the 1,100-square-foot facility. City codes would require

the business to have at least 73 parking spaces, but the commission

agreed that the existing 71 spaces will be enough.

WHAT IT MEANS

The new massage business can open at Adams Avenue and Harbor

Boulevard.

RESTAURANT KARAOKE

Player’s Pizza on West 19th Street near Harbor Boulevard can add

karaoke and offer live music seven days a week, the commission

agreed. The restaurant, which serves alcohol with food, already is

allowed to have live music, including bands of up to four people,

until midnight four days a week.

WHAT IT MEANS

Instead of just offering music Thursday through Sunday, Player’s

Pizza can have music every night until midnight.
