Verizon donates to teacher’s grant

The Huntington Beach Education Foundation was presented with a

$20,000 donation from Verizon at the June 7 meeting of the district

board of trustees. Funds will go toward the foundation’s teacher

grant program, which allows for continued technology support for

district schools.

Ocean View district seeks applicants

The Ocean View School District board of trustees is seeking

applicants to sit on the Community Budget Advisory Committee,

composed of 10 community members who will review the district budget

for the 2005-06 school year.

Committee members will present the board with recommendations on

the district’s five-year strategic plan, the current budget and

financial and facility reports.

Applications can be obtained at any Ocean View school site or at

the District Office, 17200 Pinehurst Lane. Applications will be

accepted through July 6. Candidate names will be presented to the

board of trustees for approval at the July 21 board meeting.
