Summer soccer at Laguna High

Laguna Beach High girls’ soccer coach Bill Rolfing and his staff will

conduct a summer soccer camp for girls ages 12 to 18 for the second

straight year.

Soccer skills and technique development, small group tactics and

field awareness will be emphasized. Special “speed training” sessions

with Jimmy Nolan, head football coach at Laguna Beach High, will add

to the program’s depth in an energetic, fun and positive learning

environment.

Two camp sessions will be offered. The first will run from 8-11

a.m. Monday through Thursday July 18-22 at Guyer Field on the high

school campus. The second session will run the same time, days and

place from July 25-29.

The cost is $200 per camper and $100 per additional family member.

The fee includes player evaluations, participation awards and a

Laguna Beach High camp T-shirt.

Each players is required to bring soccer shoes, shin guards,

sunscreen and water

All England Soccer Academy camp

The All England Soccer Academy camps are open to youth ages 6 to

15 and for players of all abilities. It will be held Aug. 8-12, Aug.

15-19 and Aug. 29-Sept 2. Each camp session will run from 9 a.m. to

noon at Moulton Meadows Park.

In other soccer news, the Laguna Beach Soccer club still has one

or two positions available for dedicated, quality soccer players for

its boys’ teams in divisions under-9 through under-15.

Coaches needed

in Pop Warner

South Coast Pop Warner Football continues to accept applications

for Junior Midget, Junior Mitey Mite and flag football head coaches

and assistant coaches. Applicants need not have a participating child

to coach.

Limited football player and cheer registration also still is

available for youth ages five to 15. The next signup session is from

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th, at Wal-Mart, located at 951

Avenida Pico in San Clemente.
