GIRL SCOUTS HELP
THE COMMUNITY
ANIMAL NETWORK
In order to earn their bronze award, Girl Scout Troop 132 is
helping rescued kitties get homes. For the 10- and 12-year-olds, the
bronze award is the highest achievement a junior Girl Scout can earn.
The troop selected the project because the girls love animals.
Ten-year-old Monica Rao is holding Doc, a tabby kitten whose
litter is named after some of the Seven Dwarf characters -- Sneezy,
Sleepy, Bashful and Doc.
The Girl Scout leader is Monica’s mother Linda Rao, who initiated
the idea. Community service work like this gives the kids a wonderful
experience that combines the project requirements with something they
love.
The Community Animal Network is a community- supported animal
organization linking people and pets through community action. See
