An evening of awareness will be hosted by Be the Cause, an

organization that addresses the issue of refugees and victims of

human trafficking, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the student center at

The Huntington Beach Senior Services Golf Tournament will be held

at 12:30 p.m. at Meadowlark Golf Course, 16782 Graham St. Proceeds

from the tournament will go toward the Rodger Senior Center and

outreach programs for local seniors. Registration is limited to 144

golfers and each golf package includes green fees, cart, lunch and

SATURDAY

The Shipley Nature Center tour explores the center’s planned

restoration of native plant habitat with the addition of water

conservation gardens. The event will begin at 10 a.m. Guests will

meet at the front gate to the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington

Central Park. Parking will be available in the Central Park Drive

parking lot off Edwards Street between Talbert and Slater avenues.

The Cooking Light magazine On the Move tour will come to

Huntington Beach from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday and appear at

Albertson’s, 19640 Beach Blvd. The tour will feature a truckload of

The Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach Surf City Breakfast Club will

CIVIC GROUPS

Huntington Beach Police Department’s senior volunteer program is

accepting applications for new members. Volunteers perform duties

such as citing illegally parked cars and taking down illegally posted

signs. Applicants must be 55 and older and live in Huntington Beach.

The SOS Investment Club meets regularly on the second Monday of

each month and is seeking new members interested in studying

The Huntington Beach Chapter of the National Assn. of the

Physically Handicapped provides disabled children and adults

opportunities to make their lives more vital to the community by

providing quarterly newsletters from national headquarters. The

The Clara Barton chapter of the National Society of Daughters of
