Laguna Beach Little League will field two teams this weekend as play

continues in the 9/10 division and gets underway in the 11-year-old

division at the 2005 District 55 All-Star tournament.

Laguna Beach will debut its Majors Division All-Star team Tuesday.

The Junior Division tournament begins on July 9. Each division

tournament features a double elimination.

District 55 oversees 10 Little League programs in south Orange

County: Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, South Irvine, Laguna Niguel,

Saddleback, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Northwood, Laguna Hills and

Rancho Niguel.

In the 9/10 All-Star tournament, Laguna Beach opened play Thursday

by taking on South Irvine American at LaPaz Park in a tournament

hosted by Rancho Niguel Little League. South Irvine American opened

the tournament Tuesday with a 6-5 victory over Newport Beach

American.

A victory over South Irvine American Thursday would advance Laguna

to a second-round winner’s bracket game Sunday at 4 p.m., when they

would play the winner of the Lake Forest American-Laguna Hills game.

A loss would put Laguna into the “Second Chance” bracket for a 9

a.m. game Saturday. Laguna would play the loser of the South Irvine

National-SB game, which was played Wednesday.

In the 11-year-old division tournament, Laguna Beach will take on

Aliso Niguel at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the second game of the day at

Bonita Canyon Park.

Should Laguna emerge victorious, the team would advance to play

Saddleback at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in a “Winner’s Bracket” game.

A loss would send Laguna into a “Second Chance” bracket game at

2:30 p.m. on July 9.

Laguna Beach’s Major All-Stars open tournament play at 5 p.m.

Tuesday at Woodfield Park in Aliso Viejo.

Laguna Beach will take on the winner of Saturday’s game between

Northwood and South Irvine-American.

The Laguna Beach Junior All-Star team begins tournament play

against Saddleback at 9 a.m. July 9.
