Traffic ticket extensions available online

People who received traffic tickets in Orange County can now apply

for a first-time, 45-day extension online.

A request for an extension is not a guarantee it will be granted,

officials said. Only those meeting certain criteria will be

considered.

Those criteria are:

* No prior extensions in the case.

* No previous appearance in court for the case.

* No failures to appear in civil assessments in the case.

* Not currently enrolled for Traffic School in the case.

* Case does not require a mandatory appearance.

Requests may be made on the Orange County Superior Court website.

The public should allow 24 to 48 hours for request to be processed.

Once the request is processed, confirmation will be sent via

e-mail or telephone.
