Hearts of Montage donates $40,000

Hearts of Montage, the community volunteer outreach program led by

the associates of Montage Resort & Spa, has donated $40,000 to the

Laguna Beach Education Foundation (SchoolPower).

“SchoolPower’s mission and focus aligns with our commitment to

Laguna Beach and our dedication to its education programs,” General

Manager James Bermingham said.

Laguna Beach Education Foundation (SchoolPower) was founded in the

early 1980’s with the goal of providing the extra monies to help

ensure quality education in Laguna Beach.

School board

to meet Tuesday

The Laguna Beach Unified School District Board of Education’s next

meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Issues to be discussed include:

* A resolution for the board to act as the legislative body of

community facilities for the district to authorize the levy of

special taxes for the 2005-2006 fiscal year

* Agreement for services in the amount of $15,000 with Gary Greene

for development of individual student profiles

* Agreements for maintenance services for athletic fields

* A review of the proposed board Civility Policy

* An addendum to the Durham (bus) transportation agreement for the

2005-2006 fiscal year

Hosts sought for Foreign Exchange

The Council on International Educational Exchange Program needs

host families in the Laguna Beach area to provide a bed (shared room

is acceptable), meals and a home for high school students arriving in

August from Germany, Bulgaria, Sweden, Russia, Slovakia, Czech

Republic, Brazil, Korea and Vietnam. For more information, contact
