The Bruce Rollinson Youth Football Camp and Bruce Rollinson Youth

Football Coaches Clinic will be accepting walk-up registration

Saturday at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana.

Local youth players and coaches involved with Huntington Beach Pop

Warner Football and Huntington Beach Jr. All-American Football are

invited to participate.

The walk-up registration will take place at 8 a.m. for the camp,

and 1 p.m. for the coaches clinic.

The cost of the camp, which is open to youth ages 9 to 14 and will

run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, is $75 per camper.

The youth football coaches clinic will run from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, and the cost is $25 per coach.

Youth football camp at Edison

West Football Camps will conduct its fourth annual Fundamental

Youth Football camp at Edison High School beginning July 23.

The camp, open to youth ages 7 to 14, is a two-day camp and ends

July 25.

Instruction is given by former NFL players and local high school

players. The cost is $170 per camper.

Baseball Camp opens July 25

Rich Amaral Baseball Camps will conduct the second of two summer

camp session for youth ages six to 12 from July 25 to 29.

The camp will be held on the playing fields at Ocean View Little

League.

Times for the camp are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 1:15 to 2:30

p.m. for a Double Header Club.

The fee per participant is one camp $185, with an additional $65

required per player who wishes to participate in the Double Header

Club.

Long-board classic back for 11th year

The 2005 Surfer Joe’s Summer Long Board Classic will be held for

the 11th consecutive year at Sunset Beach on July 23.

The contest begins at 6:30 a.m. at 9th Street in Sunset Beach and

this year features more than 100 surfers competing for a grand prize

of more than $2,000.

Competitions will be held in four categories: women’s, amateur,

masters (over age 40) and professional.

Last year’s classic drew more than 80 surfers from Southern and

Northern California, Hawaii and Alaska.

Last year’s winner in the pro division was Joey Hawkins. In the

masters, first-place in 2004 went to Steve Tate, Tony Bell won the

amateurs, and Blythe Bejan took first-place in the women’s.

Open registration will be taken the day of the event.

Golden West water polo summer set

Golden West Water Polo Club, a year-round competitive water polo

team, is running its summer session now through Aug. 21.

The club is open to youth ages 7 to 14, and athletes must be able

to swim 25 yards.

Two sessions have already begun, but a third session will run Aug.

1 through 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Golden

West College.
