Ocean View High School alumna Amanda Cox was named to the spring

dean’s list at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. Cox is working

toward an art major. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student

must attain a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.

Kevin M. Kelley, of Huntington Beach, was honored as the recipient

of a Distinguished Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award

at California State University, Long Beach.

The award is given annually to recognize sustained excellence in

scholarly and creative achievement by members of the university

faculty.

Kelly, an associate professor of biological sciences at the

university, was one of five faculty members presented with the award.

Kelly has been a faculty member at Cal State Long Beach since 1995.
