JAMES DORAN HIGSON

A memorial service for former Newport Beach resident Jim Higson

will be 11 a.m. July 22 at Newport Harbor Yacht Club, where he was a

member for more than 55 years.

Raised in Beverly Hills, Mr. Higson attended UCLA and Harvard

Business School. During his career, he designed and built 30

waterfront homes in Newport Beach, where he was a longtime resident.

Mr. Higson died July 9 at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian

following a series of strokes. He was 80.

Mr. Higson is survived by his wife, Susanne Higson; his cousin,

Jack Higson; and his nephew, Craig Phelan.
