gets a firm deal

FirmGreen Energy, Inc. of Newport Beach announced Wednesday the

Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio had approved the company’s

10-year deal to supply methanol to Mitsubishi Gas Chemical America,

Inc.

Under the agreement, FirmGreen can supply up to 6 million gallons

of methanol per year to Mitsubishi Gas Chemical America, which is a

subsidiary of a Japanese chemical company, according to a release.

Methanol is set to be derived from landfill gas and used to develop

Biodiesel fuel.

Collectibles group reports record numbers

Collectors Universe, Inc. a Newport Beach company that provides

authentication and grading services for dealers and buyers of

collectibles, reported Thursday the company evaluated a record number

of collectibles over its past year. For the fiscal year ending June

30, Collectors Universe handled 2.8 million items. The statistic is a

23% increase over the previous fiscal year’s total.

The company evaluates collectible coins and currency, sports

cards, autographs and stamps.

City National Bank announces new hires

City National Bank announced Tuesday that Brian Skelton had been

hired to manage its planned Newport Center office. The branch is

expected to open next month.

Skelton was a branch manager for Union Bank of California branches

in Long Beach, Yorba Linda and Mission Viejo before being hired by

City National Bank, according to a release. He lives in Irvine.

City National Bank also announced hires of client services manager

David Gonzalez and financial sales advisors Daphne Balcazar and Lisa

Sacquety.
