Big finish carries Skulls

The Skulls overcame a sluggish start to score eight goals over the

final two periods in their Norris Division meeting with the

Gladiators, and the late rush resulted in an 8-2 victory at Coast 2

Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The big period was the third, where the Skulls scored five goals.

Kaylyn De Jongh scored all three of her goals during that third

period, and Sean Cullinane and Dallas Borski also scored in the

period.

Patrick Baikie scored twice, Talon Werner once, Jackson Browner

had two assists, and Cullinane and Borski had one assist each to

complete the scoring for the Skulls. Sam Prizler had six saves.

Ben Sumner had a goal and assist, Andrew Schenker scored once and

Jake Gorthjan had an assist for the Gladiators. Jessica Baltazar had

seven saves.

In other Norris Division matches:

Blades 4, Thunder Blades 3

Cody Sizemore scored twice and added an assist as the Blades held

off the Thunder Blades.

Shane Williams scored once and had an assist, Zak Show scored once

with an assist, and Travis Hunter had an assist for the Blades.

Cameron Platzman finished with 15 saves.

William Huffman scored twice and had an assist, Joshua Gruwell

scored once and Andrew Huffman had an assist for the Thunder Blades.

Joshua Fowler had 13 saves.

Wasabi 3, Rattlers 1

Wasabi overcame a 1-0 first period lead by scoring the final three

goals.

All of Wasabi’s scoring came in the final period, when Adam Hess

scored twice and Nick Panchak once.

Steven Landis assisted on all three goals, two of which were

double assists -- one from Hess the other, from Panchak. David

Panchak had 11 saves.

Savannah Patton had 22 saves for the Rattlers.
