The Laguna Beach Peace Vigil meets every Saturday from 11 a.m. to

ADULT BASKETBALL

The public is invited to play ball at Laguna Beach High School.

Full-court pickup games are played in the school’s gym from 9 a.m. to

noon Sundays. Many former high school and college players

participate. The games are sponsored by the city’s recreation

department. Cost is $2 at the door.

MONDAY

SUMMER ENGLISH COURSE

The Laguna Beach Unified School District adult program for

learning English as a second language will be held 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Mondays through Fridays in room 90 at 550 Bluemont St. The class is

free; participants can register with the instructor. Class materials,

LAUGHTER WORKSHOP

Jeffrey Briar, a graduate of “Dr. Kataria’s School of Laughter

Yoga,” presents guided Intentional Laughter exercises and Laughter

Meditation at 7:30 p.m. at a private home in Laguna Beach. The

exercises, combined with breathing techniques and stretches suitable

for all ages and fitness levels, are said to offer relief from

stress, anxiety and depression. $20 fee. Reservations required. For
