A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage. The

Emmy-winning, 1970s, Saturday morning cartoon series that taught

history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful

songs has been making a comeback, instructing a whole new generation

to unpack your adjectives and do the Circulation. The musical,

directed by Terri Miller Schmidt, will be staged Thursday through

Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons at the Newport Theatre Arts

JAZZ FESTIVAL

The Orange County Classic Jazz Festival with classic, toe-tapping

jazz returns to Costa Mesa. All ballroom performances will take place

in the Hilton, 3050 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, with special musical

sets slated for August 5 and 6 at the Holiday Inn’s lobby lounge,

As part of its Friday Night Film Series, Orange Coast College will

screen “Maltese Falcon,” which stars Humphrey Bogart. Favorites from

film noir mysteries to romantic comedies are introduced by film

The Center Stage Chapter of The Guilds of the Orange County
