Three teams sharing glory

A trio of teams in the city of Laguna Beach Community Services

Dept.’s summer 16” slow pitch softball program picked up recent

victories to remain unbeaten.

Rotary, The O’Leary Tanks and Arbitech each reside atop their

respective league standings.

Rotary 12

Pancakes 2

Rotary picked up its third victory and continues to lead the

Monday League standings.

Rotary lead-off hitter Jonathan Cohen and clean-up hitter Steve

Sweet each hit a pair of solo home runs and singled, and Troy Medley

and Tory Thomas each had two singles.

Josh Pittman led the Pancakes with a pair of hits.

The O’Leary’s Tanks 8

Hennessey’s Young Guns 7

After falling behind, 5-1, through four innings, The O’Leary’s

Tanks rallied late to pull out the win and stay put atop the

Wednesday League standings.

The Tanks received home runs from Matt Farley and Marco Johnson.

Hennessey’s got a pair of home runs from Michael McKenzie and home

runs from Scott Borthwick, Keith Mulvaney and Ryan Neptune.

Arbitech 12

South Laguna Hamstrings 4

Art McGrath drove in four runs with a home run and triple and Ryan

Neptune hit a home run and single to account for three runs, as

Arbitech cruised to victory.

Matt Kent, Torin Pavig and Manuel Sanchez each hit home runs for

Arbitech.

Damian Carter and Enich Harris each had a pair of singles to lead

the Hamstrings.

Forty Majority 1

Courtesy Auto Body batters pounded out 12 hits in defeating Forty

Majority in Monday League play.

Paul Corey led the winners with a solo home run and single.

Mesa Verde Partners 13

Canobhit 6

Dave Sommerville and Danny Lane each drove in four runs and Steve

McKinlay hit a grand slam to lead defending Wednesday League champion

Mesa Verde Partners.

Each hit two home runs, with Sommerville adding two walks.

Bill Toon also homered for Mesa Verde Partners.

Philip McManus allowed just seven hits to Canobhit, all singles

except for a fifth inning double by Nick Cargill.

Sandpiper 18

Good, Bad and Ugly 0

Dave Meggison smashed two home runs and drove in six runs to power

Sandpiper.

Sportsworld 19

Red Morocco and 3 Peaks of Saturn 0

Paul Corey had two home runs and six RBI to lead Sportsworld.
