Bombers drop 7-4 loss on Warriors

The Bombers came up with a huge second-period offensive onslaught to

wipe out an early deficit and post a 7-4 victory over the Warriors in

Howe Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in

Huntington Beach.

The Warriors had opened up a 2-0 lead after one period, but that

lead didn’t last long.

In the second period, two goals by Stephen Marchand and one each

by Phillip Berman, Nick Iacono, Gene Jaeger and Michael Marchand,

combined with a defensive shutout, allowed the Bombers to take the

lead for good.

Each team scored in the final period to finish off the scoring.

Stephen Marchand scored the final goal for the Bombers and led all

scorers with three goals. He also had an assist.

Other assists for the Bombers went to Michael Marchand and Daniel

Graves, each of whom had two, and Aaron Baca-Chavez. Kenneth Nguyen

recorded 19 saves in the victory.

Jayce Borski led the Warriors with two goals and Alex Kowalski and

Manny Banuelos each scored once. Eric Freese had 14 saves.

In other Howe Division action

Thunder 9, Hawks 4

The Thunder offense produced nine goals over the final two periods

to pull past the Hawks.

Michael Thomas and Erik Jervik each posted three goals to pace the

Thunder. Sean Mastro scored twice, David Mastro scored once, and

Thomas, Jared Novakovich and Austin Ferreira each had one assist to

round out the Thunder’s offensive output.

Jonathan Cao had 17 saves for the win.

Alex McCabe scored two goals to lead the Hawks. Ashley Woody had a

goal and an assist, Brennan Lee scored once, Kandice Ehret had a pair

of assists, and Jacob Sabraw had one assist.

Brad Giczewski finished with 20 saves.

Skynet 5, Thrashers 4

Patrick Lipscomb scored off an assist by Maggie Prizler in the

third period, and that goal turned out to be the difference as Skynet

held off the Thrashers.

It was the first goal of the match for Lipscomb, who earlier had

an assist.

Connor Lipscomb led Skynet with two goals. Garrick Langer had a

goal and an assist, Paul Maccabe scored once, and Dennis Maccarthy

had 19 saves.

For the Thrashers, Dylan Moan led the way with two goals and an

assist. Slater Moore tallied a goal and assist and Eric Sakaida

scored once. Kourtney Kunichika finished with 21 saves.

In Atom Club action

Late rally carries HB Blazers to 10-7 win

Christopher Boyd and Daniel Burkhardt each scored two goals for

the HB Blazers in their Atom Club Division match against Snipers 97,

capping a late rally for a 10-7 win at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center in Huntington Beach.

Boyd and Burkhardt combined to score four of the HB Blazers’ five

goals in the third period. The other goal in that stretch was scored

by Toby Costa, as the HB Blazers overcame a 5-4 deficit after two

periods of play.

Boyd scored two earlier goals and finished with a match-best four

goals and an assist.

Costa scored twice, Kasey Kunichika and Riley Draghi each scored

once and Cannon Kunichika had an assist.

Chase Lipscomb scored three goals and had an assist to lead

Snipers 97. Matthew Bodge and Bryan Rousseau also had goals, and

Bodge and Maxwell Votaw each had an assist.

Snipers 96 6, OCB Cubs 6

Chase Lipscomb of Snipers 96 and Chad Sasaki of the OCB Cubs each

scored in an overtime shootout, as the teams fought to a 6-6 tie.

Lipscomb scored two other goals to finish with three.

Matthew Oyakawa had a goal and an assist, and Paul Studer and

Cameron Platzman also had goals to round out the Snipers 96 offense.

Blake Rivera led the OCB Cubs with three goals. Sean Cullinane

scored twice and had an assist, and Blake Yokoyama had an assist.
