In the city of Laguna Beach Community Services Department summer

slow-pitch softball program, just two teams, Arbitech and O’Leary’s

Tanks, remain unbeaten.

Arbitech, which competes in the Thursday League, and O’Leary’s

Tanks of the Wednesday League, each sport a 6-0 record.

Arbitech 16, C-Dawgs 0

Arbitech opened up a 2 1/2 game lead on second-place Compound

Fractures by blasting the C-Dawgs.

A 20-hit attack was led by Ryan Neptune, who had three home runs,

a double and seven RBIs.

Arbitech also got a pair of home runs from Andy Bundy and a home

run, a double and a single from Art McGrath.

Two singles by Frank Ranieri accounted for both hits by the

C-Dawgs.

O’Leary’s Tanks 18, Red Morocco 0

Like Arbitech, O’Leary’s Tanks rolled to a shutout victory, which

allowed them to open up a 2 1/2 game lead over defending Wednesday

League champion Mesa Verde Partners.

Jeff Tankersley threw a one-hit game, surrendering just a leadoff

home run to Andrew Broderick.

A.J. Voto had a home run and two singles, with four RBIs; Marco

Johnson belted a grand slam and singled and Bill Albert singled for

the Tanks.

Team Viagra 13, Used Cars 10 Team Viagra avenged a 7-4 first round loss to Used Cars to open up

a one-game lead on Sandpiper in Tuesday League play.

Each team had 16 hits, with Nate Pivaroff leading Team Viagra with

three home runs, a double and seven RBIs.

Jake Wheeler added a pair of solo home runs and Teo Moore singled

three times.

Used Cars lead-off batter Geoff Black drove in five runs with a

grand slam and a solo home run, and Andy Meyer’s sixth-inning home

run brought in three more runs.

Puswatrkylegs 16, Rotary 8

Jesse Westgaard hammered three home runs and a single to account

for six RBI as Puswatrkylegs moved into a three-way tie for the

Monday League lead with Rotary and Courtesy Auto Body.

It was the first league loss for Rotary.

Terry Milliken had a single and home run for the winners.

Troy Thomas led Rotary on offense with a home run and two singles.

Team Hobie 11, South Laguna Hamstrings 3

Rich Collins, batting in the No. 3 spot, had three home runs, a

single and five RBIs, and Mark Christy had four singles, as Team

Hobie ended a losing streak at two games.

Lead-off hitter Damian Carter doubled and singled twice for the

Hamstrings.

Hennessey’s Young Guns 16, Mesa Verde Partners 5

Micah Stovall allowed just six hits, as the Young Guns evened the

season series with the Partners.

The Partners had defeated the Young Guns, 6-1, in first round

action.

Ryan Sauers hit a pair of home runs and doubled to finish with

five RBIs, and Aiden Cunningham had two home runs and four RBI, to

lead the Young Guns.

Mesa Verde lead-off batter Steve McKinlay knocked out three home

runs and Bill Toon had a two-run home run.
