Sunday Fun-Day in the Park will feature live music, raffles, games

and activities. Food will be for sale to benefit local youth sports.

The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of Bonita

Canyon Drive and Mesa View Drive. The Battle of the Bands will take

place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 6:15

p.m. The bands performing are: Last Night’s Lasagna, Hammer of the

Godz (A Tribute to Led Zeppelin), Gilder Creek Band, Jumping Jack

Flash, 3 Mile Walk, and Natusol. First prize is the opportunity to

open for the Beach Boys at the Let’s Do Launch kickoff celebration

for the City of Newport Beach Centennial on Oct. 2. Admission for

Plein Aire Painting with Jean Marie will be held from 1 p.m. to 4

p.m. Learn traditional plein aire techniques while painting the Back

and return home with your completed original oil painting. At the

Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center, 2301 University Drive,
