GLY CROFTON COOPER

A memorial wake for Costa Mesa resident Gly Cooper will be held at

3 p.m. Sunday at Laguna Beach’s Sandpiper Lounge.

A graduate of Laguna Beach High School, Mr. Cooper was an avid

surfer and guitarist. He composed music and produced several CDs, the

last of which was called “Smoking Monkey.” In the late 1990s, he

established, with his brother, a company that produced promotional

soundtracks for special events.

Mr. Cooper died Aug. 11. He was 53.

He is survived by his parents, Crofton Cooper and Kathryn Wright;

and his sisters, Catharine Cooper and Claudia Matey.
