SAILING CLASSES

An introduction to sailing class is being offered by the Orange

Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship. Three sections of the

eight-week class are being offered, starting Aug. 29: Mondays and

Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7

p.m.; and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. All classes will be

held at the college’s sailing center, 1801 West Coast Highway,

An introduction to keelboats class is being offered by the Orange

Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship from 11 a.m. to 3:30

p.m. Tuesdays starting Aug. 30. The class will meet at the college’s

An introduction to ocean sailing class is being offered by the

A varnishing workshop is being offered by Orange Coast College

Sailing Fascination offers classes in boating safety and sailing

year-round for persons with disabilities. Classes are Tuesdays and

FISHING

Fishing classes leave Balboa Pavilion at 6 a.m. and return at 4

Get to the Newport Pier early to watch the dory fishing fleet

return with the fresh catch of the day. Fish are prepared for sale at

McFadden Square, an open-air market.
