Final soccer camp begins Monday
The All England Soccer Academy will start its third and final
summer camp Monday .
The camp will run through Sept. 2 and is open to players 6 to 15
and of all abilities. The camp sessions are held from 9 a.m. to noon
at Moulton Meadows Park.

or two positions available for its boys’ under-9 and under-15 teams.

Surfrider Celebrity Surf Jam is set
Music and surfing will combine to form the first Surfrider
Foundation Celebrity Surf Jam on Sept. 11 at the Huntington Beach
Pier.
Professional surfer Pat O’Connell of Laguna Beach is co-chair of
the event.
Popular musicians and professional surfers will be at the event,
which will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Musicians will include Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger and Ben Kenney
of the band Incubus; Peter DiStefano of Porno for Pyros; and Jim
Lindberg of Pennywise.
Olympic swimmer Aaron Perisol also will participate, as will
professional surfers O’Connell; Jeff Deffenbaugh of Huntington Beach,
who will co-produce the event; Rob Machado; Alex Grey; and Dane
Reynolds.
AYSO Region 86 seeking players
AYSO Region 86 of Laguna Beach is still accepting registration
through Sunday for its fall season.
AYSO is a nonprofit organization. Everyone plays, and no
experience is necessary.

Laguna Beach High looking for coaches
Laguna Beach High is seeking coaches in eight sports for the
upcoming school year, said Ron Schwartz, the school’s athletic
director.
Schwartz said coaching positions are open for the following
sports: assistant varsity football, including head freshman coach;
assistant volleyball, boys and girls; assistant track and cross
country, boys and girls; assistant tennis, boys and girls; assistant
soccer, boys and girls; assistant water polo, boys and girls; and
assistant softball coach.

Pop Warner Football still needs coaches
South Coast Pop Warner Football and Cheer are accepting
applications for head coaching and assistant coaching positions.
Applicants need not have a child in the league.

The Laguna Beach Breakers 12-and-under advanced team has openings
for girls for the upcoming fall season.
To be eligible, players must be under 12 through Dec. 15.
Matches during the season are played at 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and
team practices are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday.
Tennis classes and individual lessons are available for beginners
through advanced tennis players of all ages.
