o7Here are some of the items the Burbank Unified School District

Board will discuss on Thursday: f7

ACOUSTIC CONSULTING SERVICES

The district is requesting a new agreement with Arup Acoustics,

which has provided sound test, noise reduction recommendations,

construction inspection to Luther Middle School, which is affected by

noise from nearby Bob Hope Airport.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The board will mostly likely approve the agreement.

NEW SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

The previous speech-language pathologist, Amy Livingston, resigned

over the summer and the district seeks to hire Stormy Iverson from

S.O.S. Staffing Options and Solutions, a company that provides

physical and occupational therapist, speech-language pathologists and

audiologists to different organizations.

The number of students the pathologist will be treating has not

changed but the hourly rate of pay for the position has increased

from $69 an hour to $75.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The board will most likely approve the new hiring.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The board will hear the second reading of the proposed revisions

to a policy regarding graduation requirements.

The policy currently states the graduation requirements for its

comprehensive and continuation high schools but not for Burbank Adult

High School.

The proposed policy change will formally include the school’s

already existing graduation requirements, which already align with

state standards.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This item will most likely be approved.
