o7Here are some of the items the Burbank Unified School District

Board will discuss on Thursday:

f7

SUMMER SCHOOL REPORT

The board will review the 2005 Summer School Report, which

includes student attendance records and teacher and principal

recommendations for next year’s summer school session.

ELIMINATION OF POSITIONS

The board will consider the elimination of three classified

positions.

A project assistant technician position is being considered for

elimination because school construction for modernization has slowed

down and there is less work to do.

A campus supervision assistant at John Muir Middle School is being

considered for elimination because of a lack of funding.

And a third position is a vacant instructional assistant job.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The board will most likely approve the eliminations and those

currently filling the positions will be moved to other open positions

within the district.

2005-06 BUDGET

The board will review the annual financial report for the 2004-05

school year and will consider how to spend $250,000 that was set

aside in the 2005-06 budget for school sire projects.

The district’s budget committee has reviewed requests that were

submitted by principals and given them priority rankings.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The board will review the requests and rankings. A decision will

likely be made at a later date.

CONTRACT TEACHERS ASSN.

The district will present its proposal for the 2005-06 contract

negotiations with the Burbank Teachers Assn.

.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is the first reading of the district’s side of what it would

like considered at this year’s negotiations. A timeline for the

negotiations will be scheduled at a later date.
