Murphy didn’t leave council soon enough

I was disgusted to hear about Stacey Murphy when I returned from

my vacation.

I believe that as a city elected official she had an obligation to

uphold the law above and beyond that of the average citizen.

After all, she was suppose to be a leader of our community.

While she seems to have had a severe disregard for the safety of

her family, it should not have overflowed to the residents of

Burbank. Especially to that of our law enforcement.

Her capricious behavior in staying as long as she did past her

arrest showed that she was only concerned with herself.

She should have immediately stepped down to avoid distraction to

the board and awaited her fair trail.

Let’s face it, how many people would have walked away the way she

did had these items been found in their home?

Let’s move on and try to restore Burbank’s reputation.

If she is truly innocent, she is welcome to participate again and

I am sure many people would be apologizing for the grave error, but

the chances of this being so are slim to none.

She left not soon enough!

Clearly some bad choices were made

In response to letter writers’ suggestion that perhaps if Stacey

Murphy hadn’t been involved in a bad relationship.... It would appear

her choice in her relationship with someone who is allegedly dealing

in guns for dope is to say the least a bad relationship, but are we

now going to make a third party responsible for our decisions?

In making that choice for herself, she neglected to put her

12-year-old son in the primary position.

The dangers that could have befallen her 12 year old by allowing a

gun or guns and narcotics to be in one’s home is not just an error in

judgment of one’s personal choice of companionship, but surly is a

lapse in judgment in the safety of one’s child.

I, too, am sorry that she has exposed herself to the temptations

of life that abound in our society today, but this may give her and

others a chance to reevaluate the consequences of decisions to which

we are all exposed.
