Bad News Butterflies 7, Highlighters 2: Katie Ayala, Maddie Grant,

Page Keys, Nicole Perrier, Megan Farley and Kendall Walker led the

offense for the Bad News Butterflies, while Jamie Darling and Karli

Leal led the defense in the 7-2 victory.

Boys under 12

Newport Stingers 5, Costa Mesa Bullets 1: Ryan Cerrato, Arturo

Navarro, and Ryan Scroth scored in the Stinger victory. Kevin

Rakestraw and Tynan Yanaga had assists.

Also strong on defense were Eusebio Mendoza, Kyle Singer, Hollin

Almart, Max Phillips, Kyle Regan, Izaak Lofgren, Kevin Oswalt, Ayrton

Logan, Ted Barry, and Tyler Machado.

Green Geckos 2, Wolverines 2:

David Esquibel and William Hinkleman scored for the Green Geckos.

The two goals were assisted by Charlie Crook and William Crook.

Joe Jansen got the team out of trouble with quick kicks. Adam

Armbruster, Peter Conde, Antonio Rossi, Patrick Halle, and Riley

Gaddis all demonstrated great passing skills.

Girls under 10

Slimers 1, Surfer Chicks 0: Kendall Lindsay scored the only goal

with an assist from Hailey Oberst and Hannah Tucker. Alice Barry and

Melissa Machuca displayed excellent goalkeeping skills. Great team

play was contributed by Emma Erickson and Jenna Lincoln.

Cotton Candy Crew 2, Lucky Leprechauns 0: Erin Barth led a

determined Crew offense for the first quarter. Barth’s pass to Libby

Knight with six minutes to go in the first quarter resulted in the

first Crew goal. The second Crew goal came from a fourth quarter

cross by Avilia to a perfectly positioned Kayla Wynne who drilled a

hard right footer into the corner.

Goalkeepers Taylor Kalatschan and Evelyn Stephans kept the

Leprechauns on their heels for the entire half. Midfielders Kenya

Avila Rachel DiGiambattista, Natalie Ward, and Cassidy Davis got

loose on several fast breaks. Sweeper Libby Knight and defensive back

Nadine Lefler held the Leprechauns to one shot on goal in the second

half.

Blue Lightning 5, Black Widows 4: The Blue Lightning held on to

win 5-4 with a goal by Brooke Zachry with one minute remaining in the

game. Zachry and Riley Flanagan each scored two goals, and McKenna

Johnson added another goal. Megan Pierce and Ashley Ward came through

with defensive plays to help lead the charge in the season opener.

Spongebobs: Sophia Jeffries and Abbey Pickett had two goals each

and Haley Cleveland ended the game with a goal. Amanda Sheppard and

Taylor Long made sharp passes to set up the goals.

Savannah Baron earned a shutout in goal, and had great support

from Hailey Smith, Reagan Rutter and Daniella Carrese. Natalie

Molstad was all over the field and Laura Mariano held the team

together with solid midfielder play.

Purple People Eaters 5, Banana Splits 2:

The game started out very quickly when the People Eaters scored

all their goals in the first quarter. Makayla Swies had a hat trick

and Kathryn De La Torre also scored a pair.

Great defense by Shoshawna McKinney and Morgan Thomson kept the

Banana Splits out of the goal for the first half. The People Eaters

took a 5-0 lead at the end of the half. The Banana Splits scored

goals in the third and fourth quarter to keep the game close.

The Crazy Eights 6, Surfer Girls 1: Julia Frei had the first goal

for the Crazy Eights. Analysa Vivanco moved the ball downfield

several times and scored for the Crazy Eights. Reo Nathan scored with

assists from Kellie Melendres and Rachel Whitelegge. Brooke Meer,

Mackenzie Gaddis, Jenna Jarvis, and Jessica Ochoa provided solid

defense anchored by Alex Vasquez in goal.

Irvine Lasers: The Lasers went 1-2-1 in San Diego 2nd Annual

Forest Labor Day Cup. Samantha Sandzimier had an outstanding weekend

with many ferocious tackles. Tara Terpening and Grayson Galbraith

handled the goalie keeping. Janna Purcell, Francesca Ricapito and

Courtney Lang excelled on defense. The Laser offense was made up of

Caroline Famiglietti, Madison Glaser, Gabriella Caporicci, Maren

Martinez Alexis Muniz and Noelle Gooding.

Girls under 9

Irvine Lasers: The Laser won the San Diego 2nd Annual Forest Labor

Day Cup. Emily Martinez, Katie Craig, Anna Chin, Brianna Westrup and

Brynn Motal, Loren Littlefield and Hailey Hite all scored goals in

the tournament.

Goalkeepers Nicholle Frei and Katie Craig did a fantastic job in

the net and only allowed one goal for the entire tournament.

Girls under 8

Blue Angels 3, Purple Panthers 1: Megan Keys scored in the second

half with assists from teammates Lauren Loucks, Isabella Navarretta

and Emma Robertson.

Aolani Torrey and Delaney Kording held the line at the net,

stopping shots from the Purple Panther offense. Defensive pressure by

Reilly McVey, Lauren Loucks, Emma Robertson, Megan Keys and Delaney

Kording held the Purple Panthers to a single goal.

Girls under 7

Red Volcanoes, Butterfly Pumpkins: Goalkeepers Katie Hendrix and

Amanda Walker great saves.In addition to stopping goals, Walker also

scored a goal and did a solid job of distributing the ball to her

teammates. Jackie Singer scored a goal and played a key role in many

plays. Elise Rimland teamed up with Singer and Lily Williams for

several offensive strikes and also played well on defense. Emily Root

and Amanda Tapfner collected assists and stood out with exceptional

offensive play. Marissa Cislaw, Malia Putnam, and Callie Spooner also

contributed in the victory.

Sassy Green Dolphins, Blue Angels:

The first three quarters were scoreless, but filled with

exceptional offense from Karly Pearson, Abby Sauerborn and McKenzie

Porteous. Saves came from Allison Hanscom, Annie O’Connor and Olivia

Dykes. Madeline Phillips and Paige Okey had assists. In the fourth

quarter, McKenzie Porteous made the only goal of the game for the

Sassy Green Dolphins.

Blue Angels Lauren Henke, Rayna Richardson, and Riley De

Castroverde all made great stops in their first ever appearance in

the goal. Paula Pedrani and Destry Comp made excellent runs at the

goal with support from midfielders Siena Amoroso, Carol Noeggarath,

and Jenna Eakin. Laura Mackenzie played solid defense.

Boys under 7

Bulldogs 1, Dragons 0: Jack McClintock got the Bulldogs off to an

excellent start early in the first quarter with the only goal of the

game. Joshua Jenkins and Nicolas Garcia did a great job of dribbling

the ball down the field. Zachary Durham, Ashe Deering, and Chandler

Siemonsmaeach played tough and each had at least one shot on goal. On

defense, Max Gerken had some good stops, as did Christopher Bailey.

Cameron Fournierhung tough during his turn in the goal.

Red Rockets, Blue Sharks: The Red Rockets, Eric Chavarria, Andrew

Stoneman and Ivis Ramos pressured the Blue Sharks around the goal

throughout the game. Christian Cernich, Race Chambers, and Kamran

Siddiqi hustled on defense while Will Axton made a save at goal.

Adding contributions were Reece Hemmens and Evan Wicks.

Girls under 6

Dragons: Skylar Alexander, Carly Calder, Rylee Warmington, and

Tristin Warmington made several goals throughout the game.

Defensively the team was strong holding their opponents at bay.

Fairytales: Rochelle Trujillo had an amazing premiere with several

goals, steals and all around lightning speed performance. Jordan

Golden, Hannah Darrow, and Eva Nadeau also played well scoring at

ease. Kayla Brockman and Breanna Contreras balanced the team with

defensive prowess

Boys under 6

Dragons, Goblins:

Jake Edler, Wills Cook, and Jorge Valenzuela all scored goals for

the Dragons. The Dragon’s defense was led by Roy Manwell and Cameron

Weiss. Pasha Dastmalchi and Brendan Corr gave it their all with

awesome throw-ins and corner kicks.

Cole Mcfetters put on a dominant display for The Goblins. Gates

Johnson and Jake Thomas also scored goals for the Goblins who were

led on defense by Josh Gehlke, Tommy Marley and Seth Roberts.

Green Bulldogs vs. Bulldogs: Green Bulldog midfielder Joe Skinner

had an outstanding game and scored two goals. Jack Brennan was the

anchor on defense as he stopped several Bulldog attacks. Billy

Shannon also scored for the Green Bulldogs. Ben Zehnder, Ian McKasson

and Sam Lohr played great defense and offense.

Star Warriors, Green Goblins:

Goals were scored by AJ Stefano, Lucas Mowery and Jake Bashore.

Great defense, offense and ball control were exhibited by Jack

Pitchess, John Rankin, and Christopher Gruber. In his first game,

Julian Hernandez was in the action on both ends of the field.

Boys Under 5

Yellow Scorpions, Green Gators: Jake Sullivan and Shane Vanian

scored goals for the Yellow Scorpions. Jared Honda’s expert ball

handling helped in the offensive effort. Mitchell Huntley and Blake

Huntley helped on defense.

Green Goblins, The Reds: Lucas Baia and Dylan White made several

goals for the Green Goblins. Also contributing were Bennett Ward and

James McConnaughey.
