The Knockouts grabbed an early two-goal lead, fell behind in the

second half, then rallied to take a 4-3 victory from Chaos in an AYSO

Region 55 girls’ under-12 division match.

Lindsay Conlisk scored the first two goals for the Knockouts, with

Briana Montgomery and Katelyn Serrano getting assists following feeds

from midfielders Nicky Gonzalez and Allison McCaughtry, respectively.

Chaos battled back to tie the score at 2-2 behind goals by Kylie

Kestler and Julia Hiserodt, with help from Katelyn Callanan.

Chaos grabbed a 3-2 advantage early in the second half when Kiana

Demers dropped in a shot from midfield.

In the fourth quarter, the Knockouts tied the game at 3-3 when

Serrano scored off a feed from Lauren Franco. In the final minute of

play, Montgomery scored on a perfectly timed kick to give the

Knockouts an insurance goal.

The goaltending of Bethany Treskes and Nicole Brashears and the

defensive play of Jessica Alvarez and Alissa Mowrey prevented a

relentless Chaos offense from scoring on nine occasions.

Code Red moves into first-place tie

South Coast Code Red posted back-to-back victories in girls’

under-14 action last weekend to move into a first-place tie in the

league standings.

Code Red defeated Cypress Elite, 2-1, and the Orange Junior Soccer

Club under-14 team, 1-0.

Against a Cypress Elite team that was tied with Code Red for

second-place in the league standings, Ashley Haprov and Erika

Longoria scored goals to lift Code Red to victory.

Haprov scored midway through the first period when Kirsten Marony

passed to Alison Hensley, who dropped the ball back to Haprov, who

hooked it into the net.

Longoria scored in the second half when a shot attempt rebounded

off teammate Andrea Ecker.

Longoria smashed the ball back into the net to make it 2-0.

Defenders Erica Cabibbo, Jodi Hwang, Rachel Pasternak, Lauren

Hanson, Maylett Roldan and Tiffany Van Tress helped limit Cypress

Elite to a penalty-kick goal.

Against previously undefeated Orange, Hensley chipped the ball

into the box and Ecker trapped the rebound, turned and scored to give

Code Red the only goal it would need.
