DRUG FORFEITURE FUNDS

The City Council accepted $216,600 as the city’s share of

forfeitures from drug cases handled by the Burbank Police Department.

WHAT IT MEANS

The council amended the fiscal year 2005-06 budget to accept the

money that will be used for the police helicopter program,

technological improvements, safety and communication equipment for

police officers and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program.

VOTE: 4-0

COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS

The council made new appointments to committees that former

Councilwoman Stacey Murphy had been a representative on.

WHAT IT MEANS

Due to the Aug. 30 resignation of Murphy, the council needed to

appoint new council representatives to the committees she had been

on.

Councilwoman Marsha Ramos was appointed to the Environmental

Oversight Committee; Councilman Dave Golonski to the South San

Fernando/Robert R. Ovrom Park Subcommittee; Vice Mayor Todd Campbell

to the San Fernando Valley Service Sector Governance Council; and

Mayor Jef Vander Borght to the Memorial Stadium and High School Field

Renovation Oversight Committee.
