ON THE AGENDA
o7Here are a few of the issues the council will consider Tuesday
night.
f7
CASTAWAY LEASE HEARING
The City Council will continue a public hearing on amending a
lease with the operator of the Castaway Restaurant and banquet
facility. The city owns the buildings and land, and the facility is
operated by Specialty Restaurants Corp. The council took the issue up
at its Sept. 13 to address residents’ concerns about noise and
traffic associated with the facility. The lease would also increase
the amount of rent paid by the operator.
WHAT TO EXPECT
With the terms it wanted in place and agreed to by the operator,
the council will most likely approve the lease amendment.
GRAFFITI MONITORING
The council will discuss a report from Police Chief Thomas Hoefel
about the use of a pole camera to monitor areas where graffiti takes
place. The report was in response to a suggestion by Councilman Dave
Golonski. The report indicates that while the department already has
a camera purchased with a grant, using it to combat graffiti would be
time and labor intensive.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The council will give direction to staff members on whether to
pursue using the camera in areas with high concentration of graffiti.
